Unit Weekly News for 31 Mar - 6 Apr

Greetings parents and guardians,

We hope you all had a great spring break.   We have several key events hitting rapidly in April. 

• Unit HQ AFJROTC Inspection, Monday, 7 Aoril – we need all cadets looking sharp, please help with hair/grooming and clean service dress uniforms.  We have a couple cadets who need to finalize paperwork with parent initials/signatures (we’ve been chasing these the week before spring break and will again this week).  Our cadets are ready and have a terrific year to communicate share with our inspector.

• CLC Information Meeting, Wednesday, 2 April – (it’s not too late to sign up for CLC Basic)  We will begin handing out paperwork needed for CLC and sharing cost information/deadlines.  Please remember there are limited scholarships available for CLC Basic course cadets – the deadline to apply is Friday, 4 April.  Cadets may apply at Cadet Brandon Jarvis-Mixer Legacy CLC Scholarship for 2025

• $1,000 scholarships for graduating seniors – Our AFJROTC Boosters have two scholarships and the Clark Gracious fund provides one scholarship.  The deadline to apply is Friday, 4 April.  To apply, applicants need to pick up an application packet from Col Wilkinson.  An application package consists of the application worksheet, essay, resume and unofficial transcript.

• CIA Trip to Kennedy Space Center and Aquatica – keep an eye for messages from MSgt Powell – the trip is fast approaching.  Thanks to everyone for securing their slots and completing the required paperwork.

Our Bataan Death March is this coming Saturday, 5 April at Ashley Ridge High School.  If there are any parents with medical training who are willing to setup in our classroom and tend to minor issues, please let me know – we’re glad for your support.  Any parents who want to come out to cheer cadets on are welcome.  The total memorial walk is 14 miles, self paced.  Our boosters are providing lunch for all participating cadets.
