There are a few exciting opportunities coming up next Month – watch for sign ups this week at school during JROTC
11 March – Bataan Death March, open to all cadets: Annual national JROTC event to commemorate the sacrifices of the 76,000 American and Filipino men captured by the Japanese and forced to march more than 65 miles, to increase awareness of POWs and MIAs in American history, and to challenge cadets to complete a difficult task.
18 March – JB Charleston Visit, open to Juniors/Seniors: The 315th Airlift Wing, JB Charleston is opening it’s doors for a tour of the Aerial Port Squadron and a C-17 Globemaster III.
31 March – Coast Guard FLETC JROTC Demonstration Day, open to Juniors/Seniors: The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Charleston, a premier Coast Guard training base, will be opening their doors to JROTC cadets across the Low Country for tours of a Coast Guard cutter, aerial demonstrations and tour of the base and Coast Guard capabilities and opportunities to serve after high school.
4-10 June: CLC Week 1
11-17 June: CLC Week 2 -- Cadet Leadership Course of South Carolina: The premier leadership course for JROTC, a one week, in residence program at the Citadel for JROTC cadets from around South Carolina, across the Southeast Atlantic Coast region, and partner cadets from the Republic of Singapore. All current cadets are encouraged to attend this exciting developmental opportunity. Prior attendees are encourage to attend as cadre to further their advanced leadership skills development. Chaperone parents are encouraged as well, please contact Col Wilkinson if interested.
