For November, our Ashley Ridge AFJROTC Drill and Raider teams competed in the Fort Dorchester High School Patriot Challenge Competition. Both teams performed well, putting their best efforts against the many other schools that participated in the meet. It was a tough challenge. Though recognition was earned with a 1st place finish in the female pull-ups category, a 3d place in Individual Basic with Arms and a 3rd place in the Raiders Litter Carry, not many trophies were won. Our cadets were inspired to come together and work even harder. Their increased resolve and efforts showed with the drill team as they competed two weeks later at the annual Hannahan drill competition against ten other schools. The longer hours and extra effort in practice paid off. Drill team earned 1st place in Duet Exhibition with Arms, 2d place in Duet Exhibition, and 2d place in Platoon Basic with Arms. Collectively, Drill Team won 2d place overall at the Hanahan Drill Meet. This was a very exciting moment for the team as they watched their efforts of hours of practice come together, bringing themselves to newer heights. All in all, both competitions were a job well done for both the Drill and Raider teams and it will most definitely be exciting to watch them compete again in the future.
